It all started a few years ago with a conversation around why there was nowhere to talk honestly about art without being sold to, what it really means to inherit a collection, and how a new generation could meet and support artists before the market found them.
Since then, a small group has been gathering privately for viewings, dinners and conversations in unique spaces around the world and now we’re building something new for the next generation of cultural stewards who want something more than what's currently on offer.

Having grown up surrounded by the vibrant Los Angeles art scene, I was always curious about where economics, politics and visual culture meet. I’ve spent my career on both the commercial and academic sides of the art world, and I’m an insider who still often feels like an outsider. That’s probably why I care so much about making it easier for others to find their way in.
My path ran from a gallery to a museum to two international auction houses, and from there into artists’ studios and independent spaces, deal-making, art market data, art investment and lending. Along the way, I’ve worked across modern and contemporary painting, prints and drawings, editions and photography.
Today, I advise a select group of private clients who are inheriting a collection or starting their first, alongside other strategic advisory work for families and institutions. I’ve helped them buy, value, lend, manage, borrow against or sell what they own, and to treat their art as the asset it is. I’m also building something new: a better way for the next generation of collectors and inheritors to enter and navigate the art market.
I stay involved with collections initiatives at my alma maters, Yale and Oxford, occasionally speak about the art market, and find ways to support emerging and established artists directly. I also write about what I’m seeing in the market, including the things people rarely say out loud, at Art in Confidence.
